Sarah NicitaAlumni
Sarah is a designer and researcher pursuing a Master of Design Studies with a concentration in Ecologies at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. She is a graduate of the Brown | RISD Dual Degree Program, where she received a B.F.A. in Textile Design from Rhode Island School of Design and an Sc.B. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Brown University.
She is passionate about work that pertains to textiles, sustainability, and material innovation. At Brown, her formal independent research on these topics was supported through Brown’s Guiliano Global Fellowship, the Linda Pei Research Award, Brown’s UTRA (Undergraduate Research and Teaching Award), and Brown’s Science Center Fellowship.
She has interned with biotech, healthcare, and non-profit based companies while contributing to research initiatives at Brown, UCSD, and Harvard. Moving forward, she hopes to invest in projects and spaces that challenge norms and seek to push the boundaries of design and research, ultimately leveraging her educational background to make small inroads on global problems.
